KWANZAA 2011! is a vibrant celebration that honors the seven principles of Kwanzaa with performances of song, dance, and spoken word and an international marketplace. This year’s event will feature storyteller Linda Humes as master of ceremonies, the dynamic African-Caribbean performing group Something Positive, Inc., and other exciting presenters.
KWANZAA 2011! is co-produced by Community Works, an arts and education nonprofit organization founded 20 years ago, and New Heritage Theatre Group, the oldest nonprofit black theatre company in New York. The Kwanzaa marketplace is organized by the Harlem Arts Alliance.
Support for KWANZAA 2011! is made possible, in part, by the Ford Foundation,
the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation, Inc., the Tolan Family, and
the family of Frederick H. Leonhardt.
